Chief Executive Officer

Barry received his BBA Degree with a Major in General Business and Minor in Economics and Finance in 1970 from East Texas State University, which is now Texas A&M at Commerce. He began his career in the insurance industry with an underwriting position at Trinity Universal Insurance Company, later moving to the Royal Globe Companies. In 1976 he accepted the Regional Underwriting Manager position at Utica National Insurance Group. In 1980 Barry joined a National Brokerage firm as the Vice President of Marketing and Operations.


Chief Operating Officer

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University, and has the professional designation of CIC, Certified Insurance Counselor. Tom started his 27 career in the insurance industry with Marsh, Inc. and moved on to Alexander & Alexander in Chicago as a Loss Prevention Engineer and then as a Salesman. Later, Tom moved to Dallas joining the National Brokerage where he and Barry met. Barry and Tom became partners in 1985 to establish Roberts & Crow, Inc.


Senior Vice President

Julie Schatz is the Senior Vice President of Roberts & Crow, Inc. She has been in the insurance industry since 1981 earning her Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager designations from the Society of CIC. Her career has taken her from a Texas regional agency to an international brokerage firm, settling at her current employer since 1996. Roberts & Crow has been in business since 1985. Throughout her 30+ year career, she has focused on property and casualty insurance programs for private employers with a large workforces exposed to occupational accidents and disease. She manages in excess of $20,000,000 in premium volume with approximately 500 workers’ compensation claims a year. While not a Native Texan, she has lived in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex since 1980. All of her client’s corporate operations are in Texas, but most have a national foot print. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to famous golf destinations to work on her handicap.


Vice President of Employee Benefits

Liz Oquin has over 30 years in the insurance industry, with a background in both fully-insured and self-funded markets. Prior to joining Roberts & Crow, Inc., she had spent the eight years with a large TPA in Dallas as Account Manager. In this position she was responsible for the marketing, implementation and service for over 60 national and regional accounts. Her duties also included managing the administrative ‘day to day’ operations of the Section 125 Department.


Senior Account Manager

Cyd’s vast knowledge of P&C markets and her experience in development of individually-tailored programs are derived from 12 years of agency ownership within the Permian Basin, Texas, in conjunction with 10 years of sales, marketing and service of Fortune 500 and international accounts with Lockton and Arthur J. Gallagher. She serves as Program Administrator of the national Self-Storage Facility Program launched in 2018 and attributes the success of her programs to never accepting “no” as the final word from any underwriter.


Account Executive & Director of Operations

Ashley completed her BBA in Risk Management Insurance from the University of North Texas. She is currently completing her designation for Certified Insurance Counselor. Ashley started out answering phones for Roberts & Crow for her high school co-op class and has worked her way up to sales and operations. She has a diverse property and casualty book of business and welcomes new challenges with hard to place risks. Ashley enjoys traveling and has a passion for rescuing animals.
